NWC Renovation Update


Though it may not be noticeable from the outside, there is a complete makeover taking place within the walls of Northwest Classen. Phase I of the MAPS for KIDS renovation began in the auditorium and many classrooms on the first and second floors. Teachers and students are now moving back into some of their classrooms. Then on to Phase 2 which includes the entry, main office and other areas. The entire project......including gym, field house, library, cafeteria and other areas of special interest.......is scheduled for completion by year-end 2012.



The FRIENDS Auditorium Committee has been meeting with architects, audio-visual-lighting designers, OKC MAPS and OKC School Board to plan the additions needed in the auditorium to create a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Theater at NWC. This 1,413 seat theater will be available for community events and performances. Funds raised from rental of the facility will be returned to the school. What a great addition this will be to Northwest Classen and, needless to say, a fabulous venue for the Oklahoma City community!!!
